HGV Class 1 Driver Birmingham

We offer many routes across the UK and Europe, including regular routes with standardised timings and local routes.

All applicants will be required to come in for an informal chat and walkaround on site as well as completing a short induction and driving assessment.

Cargo Express are recruiting for new HGV Class C+E day drivers to join their ever growing team in Birmingham.

We have various routes available to suit a high range of personnel:

Drivers will need to be relatively flexible with their start times/finish times as each day varies depending on the routes laid out by customers.

All drivers are guaranteed 10 hours work per shift.

Drivers will have weekend work available to them, although not always guaranteed.

All drivers must be CPC compliant.

Drivers must have a valid driving licence with a maximum of six points on their licence.

A warehouse management system that provides you with real time stock levels and a quick recall of materials in and out. Multi-bay racking system, allowing more pallets to be stored with the same floor space used, providing a cheaper solution to storage.

FORS accredited, working above and beyond the set standard.

The successful HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers must also:

• Complete all paperwork, ensuring all POD’s are signed and all company/procedural paperwork is completed.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects to the relevant line manager.
• Be compliant with the driver’s hours and tachograph regulations
• Have the flexibility and willingness to work additional hours including weekend work.
• Have the ability to work in as part of a team.
• Have good communication skills, being able to liaise daily with customers, the fleet manager and other drivers.
