Part Time HGV Class 1 Driver – Weekends Birmingham

All applicants will be required to come in for an informal chat and walkaround on site as well as completing a short induction and driving assessment.

Cargo Express are recruiting for a new HGV Class C+E PM shift driver to join their growing team in Birmingham. This role will be required to cover Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday work on a flexible basis. Alternatively, the successful could cover all 3 days or part thereof. This can be discussed at interview stage.

We have various routes available to suit a high range of personnel:

Drivers will need to be relatively flexible with their start times/finish times as each day varies depending on the routes laid out by customers. However, we normally quote a start time window between 17:00 and 19:00 and a finish time window of 04:00-06:00.

All drivers are guaranteed 10 hours work per shift.

All drivers must be CPC compliant.

Drivers must have a valid driving licence with a maximum of six points on their licence.

The successful HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers must also:

• Complete all paperwork, ensuring all POD’s are signed and all company/procedural paperwork is completed.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects to the relevant line manager.
• Be compliant with the driver’s hours and tachograph regulations
• Have the flexibility and willingness to work additional hours including weekend work.
• Have the ability to work in as part of a team.
• Have good communication skills, being able to liaise daily with customers, the fleet manager and other drivers.
